A Quick History of Applomatic

In 1993 KnowledgeBase Communications (KBC) was formed to deliver multimedia training solutions to industry. This venture was formed to meet the needs of companies that struggled with the burden of training employees in areas where govenrment compliance drove demand for more automated solutions. After 2 short years in business, the technology assets of KBC were acquired by the SRATT division of McGraw-Hill, where the technology behind the KBC product line became the basis for McGraw-Hill's entry into distance learning and training solutions over the Internet.

With the asset sale to McGraw-Hill the company shifted to a consulting services model, working with companies like McGraw-Hill, McDonald's, Ameritech/SBC, IBM, Hewlett-Packard, and PepsiCo to deliver a variety of creative technology solutions.

In June 2000, KBC changed its name to Applomatic, with a number of talented software engineers, architects and system engineers joining the consultancy from a number of dotcom ventures that collapsed in that timeframe. This talented group was able to reengineer the solutions that had been developed under earlier flawed business models to develop a library of reusable software components and an architecture framework that could help reduce the cost and timeline to deliver custom software solutions in light of the advancing offshore model. This collection of Accelerators allows Applomatic to offer the best combination of business and technology expertise with the value proposition of an offshore delivery model without the coordination and language barriers.

Starting in 2002, Applomatic began to offer its Accelerators to emerging firms in a no risk proposition as equity partners, taking an equity stake in several ventures in exchange for developing the technology platform and services. A number of these firms are still in the pre-IPO stage and we continue to look for potential partner opportunities that fit our solution set.

2007 finds Applomatic poised to introduce a number of new products and services based on Microsoft Sharepoint Server 2007, including the consolidation and migration of existing software applications to this robust new platform for collaboration and business intelligence.
